planning some new domains in .org

I am planning to start some new websites with domains in .org extension. I hope it will be good as the prices are low for .org and i guess the extension will pick up more weight as more and more websites would be registered.

i am not sure if it will be good in terms of SEO, i guess there shouldnt be no effect for a domain being .org in extension.

I see why not - .ORG domain extensions are for organization kind of site. It's best to buy the domain for whatever your site is about. For example, .COM is for commercial kind of sites, .NET is for network kind of sites, .CO.UK is for UK based sites, .INFO is for informative kind of sites.
