Submission to free directories

I have been submitting my sites to a lot of free directories that nowadays lots of webmasters are creating. I was just unsure that whether those submissions to the free directories of lower PRs will be of any help to my site or not? Just a reminder that every single link pointing to your site helps. Now, the point is that if its a relevant link, you will benefit a lot and if its non relevant, you will benefit less. And maybe now they are low PRs and they may reach to higher PR soon?

Good question. I has been wondering this myself for awhile. Now, here's something I don't know yet, but have heard lots about. What is 'PR'? I know there are different levels and a beginner level starts at 0 and then grows. So, what does PR stand for and how is PR ranked? What do the numbers stand for?
