Is submiting to DMOZ a viable strategy for SEO

Getting listed in DMOZ is next to impossible. I use to edit for them, as did a lot of other people. Unfortunately their editing process sucked so bad that a lot of us left as soon as we arrived. I think this is why there is such a problem getting listed: There's almost nobody over there editing anymore. i dont not see much of value in DMOZ listings now.
