automatic or manual dir submission

I am developing few websites and I want to submit them to hundreds directories?
I am just wondering if there is automatic software to submit my websites, and if it's considered as spamming or not??
and how can I be sure that it is manual directory submission?

Personally, I don't think it will be considered spamming but it would be nice if you found a automated one I have been submiting my sites manually and its a pain is you find one let me know.

Submitting manually is the way to go. It allows you to actually know which directories you are submitting to, you can review their terms individually. A few advices:

1. Make sure you deviate in your TITLE and DESCRIPTION when signing up on directories.
   
2. Dont make 200 submissions with the exact same details. You need to think alot about the keywords that is importaint for your site and then use them different on every submission.

This is VERY important - and you would need to do manual submissions to do this. One of my sites was slipping on 1 of my keywords - it was down to about 30 in the SERPS, so I set about doing some directory submissions targetting the keywords and after a -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. Manual submissions should have a degree of autonomy involved. Generally firefox plugin/extensions are used, and profiles created so that the information for the site is entered once, and then you never do another keystroke again. This negates the variance factor that has been brought up, since this method would actually reduce the frequeuncy of errors not increase them.

With FF extensions/plugins you still have to manually navigate to the directory and through its categories to submit. The problem with automated software is that whenever a directory owner sees 100 submissions from the same person sitting in their pending queue they are going to flag the lot as dodgy and delete them.

Automatic submission can be very effective, but you do have to use some common sense because you will be flagged if you submit to the same directory over and over again.

The other thing that really ticks off most directory owners is submitting tons of subdomains or inner pages from the same site. Some directories permit this, but most of them require payment for deep links.

As far as the typo issue - automatic submission does cut down on typing errors that can lead to auto-rejection. the best thing to do is to submit in the right category, then be it manual or using some software, your link approval will be high
