improving traffic by submitting to paid directory

Hi there

Is there any chance to improve traffic to our site while submitting our site into a paid directory? if so, why so many clients are submitting their sites into free directory like DMOZ even it is a time taking process?

Please shed some light on this

Plus there are many lists on the web for paid and free directories, but be careful, over the last few years a lot of paid directories have been set up that will not send any real traffic. It is very hard to tell the difference between the good and the bad, but the ones I listed are good.

If you were to take my opinion, there is no need the submitted your site in paid directory becoz there are many free directory where you can place your links and there are Article and Press releases also which can help your site for ranking and you need to pay anythink for this i have seen many site they only do free open directory submission and after a time they get good ranking or Pr.

I see almost 15 new directories getting announced in digital point forums.
It may be more but take it as a conservative figure.
And I noticed a rush to list in those free directories.

The general opinion about paid directories is that people are losing interest in them.
