reboot failure?

Hello all of you,
I found my server to be running a bit slow so, I requested a reboot via fdc helpdesk and it failed. i am still waiting on support to reply to my ticket to get it back up. Could anyone give me on some ideas why a reboot would fail?

Requesting a reboot from most DCs, they hit the reset button on the server. This has the potential of forcing a file system integrity check which can take a considerable amount of time to run.
