I use firefox for the plugins and skin-a-bility.
IE7 is ok but is basically just a rip off. People who say firefox is slower are wrong I have always used both browsers and firefox is always faster. It is going to slower if your running 25 plugins to do something but base to base its faster.
Opera is a good browser but has bugs that annoy me and it looks shit, it's definately got promice though.
On the saftey front NO BROWSER is safe, you actions on the internet make it unsafe, I have had problems with both in the past for different reasons.
