The 'caution' sign is not appropriate when you want people falling down.
Google have turned the Link: search operator in to a superb misinformation tool that doesn't hurt anyone but those who might seek to exploit it. The cleverest part wasn't removing most of the links that still matter from the results - it was adding in links that absolutely are not helping. That bit was rather ingeneous.

And who does it hurt?

Most ordinary people don't even know that such a search operator exists, let alone have any reason to use it. Professionals know a host of other ways to find what they seek, and yet still return to Google as their primary search engine based on quality of results and ease of getting them. So it doesn't hurt ordinary users, nor professional researchers, nor google's market share. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members.
