Default site log files

need some info. please help

I would like to know if there is a rule to maintain website log files for a certain period of time. For example, most of the hard drive space in my server is occupied by log files, hence I want to set a log rotation on the server which deletes the log files which are older than a specific period say 30days. Now I want to know is that by rules, can I do so. Or is there a specific period for which I have to compusorily maintain the log files on the server.

confusing, sort my dilemma -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
