Default inbound links and rankings

Hi

What is the best way to get inbound links to your site? As you know, if you go to marketleap.com and enter in your URL and a few other URLs for your main keywords, you find out that they have very high numbers of links to their sites - for example, 25,000 - 50,000 and up.

How do they do this - surely not by reciprocal linking? Is it articles or another method ?

Anyone know what the best way to get links to your site is ? If you look at some of the content, it doesn't always seem to be completely optimized for the search engines, so it must be the links that get them their high positions.
